Kory Family Hospital currently has three modern facilities in Bungoma County. Our flagship facility is located in Bungoma town along Airstrip– Kanduyi road and our second facility is located along Kimilili – Kitale road in Kimilili town. The third is Kory Family Hospital Chwele along Chwele –Bungoma road in Chwele town.

We are seeking to hire a medical officer for our Kimilili hospital.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provision of outpatient and inpatient care to patients.
  • Facilitation of patient admission and discharge.
  • Facilitation of Continuous Medical Education for all clinical staff.
  • Ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree in Medicine and Surgery with a minimum 1-year experience post internship.
  • Current registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council.
  • Computer literacy, with experience working with Health Management Information Systems.

BACKGROUND

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cook nutritious meals, according to standardized protocols for patients following doctors’ instructions for each patient, ensuring that cleanliness is given the highest priority.
  • Assist the hospital management in creating recipes, along with help from doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ascertain that patients’ meals are delivered to them promptly so that they can take their medicines on time.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and sanitization of kitchen areas, such as counters, floors, and walls.
  • Prepare food items such as fruits, vegetables and meats by cutting, dicing and slicing them.
  • Follow instructions for meal preparations for patients with food allergies and make sure to omit any ingredient that may cause gastronomical trouble.
  • Any other duty that maybe assigned from time to time
REQUIREMENTS:
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience working a corporate kitchen.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred but not essential.
  • Preferably Qualified Chef with professional catering qualification.

We are seeking to hire a Nurse Manager for our Kimilili hospital.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Knows and practices the prescribed philosophy, purpose, policies, and standards of Nursing/Patient Care Services.
  • Organizes, directs, and administers the Nursing/Patient Care Services in order to provide the level of care required by current medical and nursing standards.
  • Supports and develops Nursing/Patient Care Services in the coordination of the employee selection process, work assignments, performance evaluations, and staff development for these services.
  • Maintains continuing quality assessment and improvement analysis and evaluation of patient care delivery and communicates with Administration on the activities/issues of Nursing/Patient Care Services.
  • Plans and recommends to Administration new facilities or equipment, or modification thereto, needed to provide patient care.
  • Recommends, supports, and participates in education services, programs of education, and training, including orientation of new employees. Encourages and facilitates the professional advancement of employees by affording opportunities for further education and experience.
  • Recommends the modification, addition, or deletion of personnel policies to insure reasonable hours and acceptable working conditions to provide patient care coverage.
  • Ensures that cordial relationships are maintained with patients, their families and friends, clergy, and other interested groups in the community. Interprets the goals of the Nursing/Patient Care Services areas to the community by maintaining harmonious and effective relationships with the community.
  • Participates in policy decisions that affect Nursing/Patient Care Services in the hospital.
  • Responsible for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of performance improvement and CQI.
  • Assures Nursing Leadership support for staff by maintaining a Nursing Administration Call rotation at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current licensure to practice from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in patient care services management required.
  • Prior experience as a Chief Nursing Officer/Nurse Manager preferred.
  • The ability to demonstrate leadership, managerial ability, good interpersonal relationships, and the application of sound administrative principles.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information.

4. MIDWIVES (2 Positions) | 8th November 2019

JOB SUMMARY:

The position is responsible for ensuring that Kory Family Hospital-Kimilili maintains high standards of professional nursing care to Expectant mothers while ensuring consistent provision of efficient and ethical care to support it in achieving quality health service delivery.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide direct prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum and/or well women patient services and primary care to low-to-moderate risk obstetrical and gynecological patients.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Record patient’s care services, condition and treatment as required.
  • Work closely with the other units especially laboratory and pharmacy to provide smooth flow of patients through the processes.
  • Ensure the clinical and nursing needs of patients are met and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols for nursing services.
  • Ensure compliance with established professional and institutional policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the mother, ensuring the safety of both the mother and child.
  • Supervising and assisting mothers in labor, monitoring labor using the partograph and writing of nursing care plans.
  • Ensure that the birth Registration of babies is carried out, list compiled and submitted to relevant authorities
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Diploma (Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN)/Kenya Registered Midwife. (KRM) and be registered by the nursing council and a valid license); at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a busy maternity unit.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Knowledge of midwifery theory, procedure and standards.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care programs.
  • Ability to perform patient assessment and triage.
  • Knowledge of gynecological health issues and trends.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Must be a self-driven individual, diligent, honest and responsible
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly professional and patient to listen and attend to patients
  • Good spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
  • An individual with a passion for the wellbeing of patients
  • Calm and working beyond the call of duty to serve
